Expanding the Circle
EXPANDING THE CIRCLE
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education Get Ready GEAR UP Minnesota program is teaming up with the University of Minnesota Institute of Community Integration to offer the Expanding the Circle (ETC) curriculum to schools and organizations serving American Indian students in the State of Minnesota.
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
Expanding the Circle is the only postsecondary transition curriculum designed specifically for American Indian students. The curriculum offers culturally relevant activities that facilitate the successful transition from high school to postsecondary experiences for American Indian students. It is designed to help youth explore who they are, what skills they need, and what their options are for life after high school.
ETC lessons are designed for use by teachers as well as elders, community members, or other professionals who may work with American Indian youth. ETC has been used in 33 states as well as Canada. ETC curriculum is offered in a binder version and digital.
