Get Ready Partners with NPSI on Inspiring Workshop

Sections

In November, the Get Ready GEAR UP Institute hosted a College & Career Strategy Workshop for school district leaders, in partnership with the National Postsecondary Strategy Institute (NPSI).

Leaders from across Minnesota came together to turn ideas into real plans that will support students long after graduation. The day brought a lot of honest conversations, problem-solving, and shared commitment to making sure every student has a clear path forward. The collaboration in the room made it clear how deeply Minnesota is invested in strengthening postsecondary opportunities.

Schools in attendance included Camden, Dream Technical Academy, Prairie Seeds Academy, Red Lake, Robbinsdale, and Roosevelt. Each brought valuable perspectives, community knowledge, and a dedication to student success.

The workshop gave K–12 district leadership teams the chance to spend a focused day digging into college and career readiness. Throughout the Institute, teams:

  • Worked as a Postsecondary Leadership Team (PLT), bringing together staff who collectively shape postsecondary readiness.
  • Looked closely at key data indicators that show whether students are on track after high school and discussed ways to strengthen those measures.
  • Built systems to reduce silos, improve communication, and create more aligned districtwide strategies.
  • Explored how to use data more intentionally to guide decisions and improve outcomes across grades.

Participants left with clearer direction, stronger alignment, and renewed momentum to support every student’s path to college, career, and beyond.
