This winter and spring, Get Ready hosted Pep Rally events at Brooklyn Center Middle School, Fridley Middle School, Olson Middle School, Anderson United Middle School, and Robbinsdale Middle School to help rising ninth graders get excited for high school.
Each school welcomed award-winning youth motivational speaker Eddie Cortes, who shared his “I’M POSSIBLE” message with students through humor, storytelling, and interactive activities. His presentations encouraged students to believe in themselves, recognize their strengths, and think about their future goals.
The Pep Rallies gave students a chance to learn more about Get Ready and the support and resources available to them as they transition into high school. Students also connected with staff and classmates in a fun, high-energy environment focused on confidence, motivation, and preparing for what’s next.
The high-energy events encouraged students to see high school as a place full of opportunity, support, and possibility while reminding them that they already have the potential to succeed.
